Moonrise Kingdom because it is a special film I share with my significant other and it was pretty much my 1st Wes Anderson film I was able to watch ( I tried to watch The Royal Tenenbaums when I was younger but my parents wouldn't let me, I finally got to watch and finish it today though). But Moonrise and my significant other were essentially my introduction into the world of Wes Anderson and my love of his films

Rushmore is his best movie hands down followed by Isle of Dogs I can watch these two movies any time. Apples are better than oranges too.

I'm giving this video a thumb's up for saying The Life Aquatic is your favorite. It's only my third favorite, I think, but it's hilarious, also very moving, and I don't know why so many people don't like it at all.

You've seriously never seen any of his films? He's the best actor of his generation. He's currently in cinemas in Little Women, but his best role was in Call Me By Your Name, for which he swept the critics' awards and became the youngest Best Actor nominee in 80 years.

I have tried to rank his films in my mind, so here's my ranking (bear in mind I rate them all above 90%)
    9) Rushmore
    8) Isle of Dogs
    7) Life Aquatic
    6) Bottle Rocket
    5) Fantastic Mr. Fox
    4) Grand Budapest Hotel
    3) Darjeeling Limited
    2) Moonrise Kingdom
    1) Royal Tenenbaums (my family and I LOVE this movie and it will always be my #1 Wes Anderson film until he creates something MORE AMAZING)
I think he's only made 9 movies so far. I hope the French Dispatch will be fantastic. Here's to another year of amazing filmmaking!! Can't wait to hear your reviews. ❤❤❤

in terms of pure art, Wes Anderson films are historical. Its for sure "artsy fartsy" stuff, but you can't deny that they always look very distinctly wes anderson, in other words, no one can duplicate it. Its just like duplicating Snoop Dogg's Rap. You just can't do it. You can try, but you can hear the difference is pretty clear

Wes Anderson is a one-trick pony. You could take every Wes Anderson movie, edit them together and it would seem like the same movie. There are very little shades or degrees of difference between them.

  • Jordan Ziolkowski
    Jordan Ziolkowski Uukausi sitten

I usually end up liking Anderson's movies but he's pulling a full Tim Burton and abandoning his edge in favor of leaning completely into his over-the-top full-on production studio style and casting the same actors over and over again. Didn't work out well for Burton in the end and I feel like Anderson's "genius" is starting to wear thin.
